History

Queensland Sports Medicine Centre is a multidisciplinary practice encompassing all aspects of Sports Medicine. The Centre is privately operated and deals with both recreational and elite level athletes as well as work related injuries. The Centre is strategically located on site at the Gabba, where service is provided for The Brisbane Lions AFL team, in close proximity to the city, public transport and the Queensland Academy of Sport.

The Centre assesses and treats patients of all ages and, where appropriate, a cross-disciplinary team approach can be used for management. The focus of the rehabilitation process is very individual, and is dependent on the nature of the problem. The following services form the core group of service providers- Physiotherapy, Massage Therapy, Sports Medicine, Orthopaedics, Myofascial Therapy, Podiatry, Nutrition, Acupuncture, Sports Psychology, Pilates and Women’s Health.

QSMC Physiotherapy members have provided elite Sports Physiotherapy coverage at international level, including three Olympic and three Commonwealth Games. Our multidisciplinary team has also provided services for athletes from -

Fees and Payments

Payment is required at the time of consultation. QSMC accepts cash, EFTPOS and all major credit cards (American Express and Diners Card excluded).   HICAPS is also available for participating health funds. You can process your private health insurance claims when you pay for the consult.

Cancellations

Cancellation charges will occur. At least 24 hours notice is required to cancel an appointment.

Hours of Operations

QSMC is open from 8:00am to 7:00pm Monday to Friday, and Saturday morning 8am to 12pm.

General

Alternative clothing ie shorts/t-shirt may be appropriate to allow the treatment of your injury. Please bring all relevant investigative reports ie X-rays, scans etc along with you to your first appointment. It is a good idea to bring your shoes to a podiatry appointment.
