SWISS DOLORCLAST – RADIAL SHOCK WAVE THERAPY
At QSMC we have been trialling a new form of pain relief treatment.

We decided to investigate this form of therapy after reviewing many objective studies, and clinically it has proved to deliver some remarkable results.

The Swiss Dolorclast unit produces a series of pneumatically generated shock waves applied to the area of pain.

Conditions successfully treated with the Swiss Dolorclast include the following -
 Plantar fasciitis
 Achilles tendonosis
 Shin splints
 Tennis and golfers elbow
 Calcific tendinitis of the rotator cuff
 Persistent myofascial trigger points
 Insertional tendinopathies

Treatment with the Swiss Dolorclast is patient-friendly producing only a moderate discomfort in the majority of patients. It has minimal side effects and is administered on three to five occasions, taking only a few minutes each session.

The aim of the Swiss Dolorclast treatment is significant reduction in pain, with an improved healing response, allowing a return to training earlier and the ability to compete with less, or no pain.

The Swiss Dolorclast was part of the equipment supplied to the athletes in Athens at the 2004 Olympics and it was used during the Rugby World Cup.

Very few Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine clinics in Australia have begun to use the Swiss Dolorclast. To our knowledge this is the first in Brisbane.

As a physiotherapist will provide the Swiss Dolorclast treatment, fees can be viewed as a physiotherapy session for claiming purposes.
